果冻视频 Honors Council

The Purpose of the 果冻视频 Honors Council is to:

  1. Serve as a subcommittee of the 果冻视频 Undergraduate Program Committee.
  2. Advise the 果冻视频 Undergraduate Programs Committee on curricular matters related to honors education at 果冻视频, including whether:
    1. courses proposed for honors credit meet appropriate institutional standards.
    2. newly proposed upper-division honors programs meet the criteria established for such programs.
  3. Assist in the administration of the Faculty Honors Fellows Program.
  4. Promote cooperation among the various units that offer honors opportunities to high ability students at 果冻视频.

Membership

  1. The 果冻视频 Honors Council will have eleven members, all chosen according to the appropriate policies in their colleges. (The Graduate College and the College of Biomedical Science are not represented on the 果冻视频 Honors Council since this body deals exclusively with the undergraduate curriculum.)
  2. The presence of six of the Council鈥檚 eleven voting members will be considered a quorum for the purposes of conducting business.
  3. The Dean of Undergraduate Studies, the Dean of the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College, and the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Research will serve as ex-officio, non-voting members of the 果冻视频 Honors Council.
  4. It is strongly recommended that individuals elected to membership on the 果冻视频 Honors Council have experience in honors education at the faculty or administrative level either at 果冻视频 or at another institution.
